Mind the gap!

So after writing this post on the mobile as a tool for social and economic development and andy polaine’s tip on gapminder…. ta – dah!

The number of phone users per 1000 people vs. the income per capita [GNI] to give us a very obvious trend. The greater the number of phone users in a given population the greater the income, and wonder that is the Gapminder tool, is that you can run through an animated sequence of the past 40 or  more years validating itself as it goes. And in case you were wondering the big light blue blob is India, the big red one is China and the medium yellow one out in front is the United States. Mind you this is all 2004 data. Things have moved fast since then. I do wonder how the results show for today?
